Love and Kindness"
Hooked on Smiles is an all volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)3 charity serving disadvantaged children and adults in our local community. Our humanitarian efforts include providing personal comfort kits, baby diapers, blankets and general pantry products to support homeless and low income families. In addition, we provide free social, recreational, and entertainment programs for disabled children and adults. Since 2001, our sponsors and volunteers have provided 55 special programs serving approximately 17,155 people.
Vision: Our goal and vision is to enrich the lives of homeless people and low income families, as well as encourage independence, social acceptance and physical activity for the disabled. Such programs provide an opportunity for the disadvantaged to improve their quality of life.
Inspiration: Many of our programs are dedicated in memory of Dick Stork, who was the driving force in creating Hooked on Smiles. Dick Stork spent many years of his life serving the disabled in our local commuity and his legacy is the inspiration behind our very special programs.
Programs: Our organization operates as a support function for many local humanitarian agencies such as the Salvation Army, AMVETS, The Star Center, Domestic Abuse Council and Halifax Urban Ministries (HUM) in Daytona Beach. As a charitable partner, we purchase basic hygiene and pantry products, plus package and deliver any donated items for distribution at local outreach centers in Daytona Beach.
Our charitable endeavors for the disabled (physically challenged or developmentally disabled) are consistently high quality and always free of charge. Themed boat cruises, dance parties, movies, food offers, museum tickets, entertainment shows, recreational activities, amusement park tickets, hair cuts and sporting events account for many of our programs for children and adults with special needs.
Financial Support: 100% of all donations received by Hooked on Smiles fund our very special programs. Cash and gift donations from private individuals, professional organizations and local businesses play an integral role in the success of our programs. All administrative expenses are paid for by the Stork family. All financial donations and in-kind gifts to Hooked on Smiles are tax deductible and sincerely appreciated.
